Annette is a Registered Play Therapist and holds a certificate in play therapy. She is President for the California Branch of the Association for Play Therapy. She is a member of CAMFT (California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists) and served on the board of directors for Ventura County CAMFT and was awarded Volunteer of the Year Award.

Annette Markowitz is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in counseling children, adolescents, adults and couples. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, relational problems, and crisis management.  She has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings including outpatient, school, agencies, and teens/adults released from residential treatment.

She also has specialized knowledge and experience in living with Type 1 diabetes. She works with a medical alert dog. Her personal and professional passion is helping people whose lives have been touched and changed by diabetes.
